Our vegan brushes are made from Tampico grass, which by its nature will give you a stiff bristled brush, significantly stiffer than boar hair bristles. The stiffer bristled brush is great for cleaning our polyester, polyurethane and wood MoonBoard holds. It also makes it easier to clean dirty or lichen-covered rock, but it could risk causing damage to some fragile rock types, such as soft sandstone or damaged gritstone which has lost it’s hard protective outer layer. Please bear this in mind when brushing. Whatever type of brush you use, over time lots of brushing will polish or damage holds and rock, so please bear this in mind when you are cleaning your holds and ask yourself if you really need to brush the hold. Remember, respect rocks!
